First week of June - Trips !

We’ve got some great trips coming up that we hope you can join us for.

Here’s a list of what we have planned the first week of June.
Sunday, June 3: Little White River
Type of Trip: Kayak or Canoe
Trip Leader: Ray Lipinski, ray.lipinski@ontario.ca
Meeting Location(s): Tim Horton’s- Blind River 9:00 am; or Miner’s Monument- Elliot Lake 10:00 am
Trip Info: Day trip; approximately 16 km of river, some shallow sections (depending on water level), usually scratches can be avoided. Starting point at camping/picnic area near the Highway bridge on Hwy. 546 approx. 1 km east of the intersection of Hwy 639. Approximately 5-hour trip downstream. A vehicle shuttle will be done before the trip. Bring a lunch, be prepared for bugs.
Level of Difficulty: Moving Water, no rapids, some hazards (rocks, sweepers)
Tuesday, June 5: PADDLE NIGHT – Esten Lake
Trip Leader: Sirje Pomerleau, pomerlea@sympatico.ca
Type of Trip: Kayak or Canoe
Meeting Location: 6:30 p.m. - Esten Lake boat launch in Elliot Lake (follow the boat launch signs: Esten North, right onto Pearson Drive, left on Scott Road (heading to the landfill) continue .6 km, then keep left going uphill on a gravel road. Follow this road for 1.2 km and turn right)
Trip Info: Evening lake paddling, hopefully circumnavigating an island or two depending on paddling speed of the group. We will paddle out for a given time and then return, selecting the route accordingly. Some sandy beaches for a swim if you dare!
Level of Difficulty: Easy, flatwater
Saturday, June 9: Paddle & Potluck
Type of Trip: Kayak or Canoe
Trip Leader: Kathy Ellis, blindriv@gmail.com
Meeting Location: 14 Duborne Drive.
Trip Info: 12:00 meet at 14 Duborne Drive, 12:30 boats depart (loop of north end of Lake Duborne, Carla’s Lane, and a stop on Blueberry Island - about 8 km total), 5:00 potluck. The potluck will go ahead regardless of weather. Sometimes, due to weather, no one paddles, but we have a great potluck turnout anyways!
