Voyageur Canoe Course

The following course is being offered to provide paddlers with skills particular to paddling in traditional Canadian Voyageur Canoes.

Wanted: The Algoma Paddlers owns 2 Voyageur canoes and is seeking a Voyageur canoe director. The canoes have been used in numerous events such as community celebrations across the Algoma region, races (Little Current to Killarney), overnight canoe adventures, and much more over the last 15 years.

Day Trip:  Little White River

Meeting location:  Miner’s Monument at Horne Lake 9:30.

Start Location:   access point near Hwy 546 bridge.

Type of Boat:  canoe or kayak

Trip Information:  travel approx. 15 km downstream.

Type of Boat:  Canoe or kayak

Level of Difficulty:  moving water, some hazards (rocks, sweepers), possibility of scratching boat. Vehicle shuttle required.  Covid considerations.
